Maia
6 km north of the city of Porto, it is part of its metropolitan area.
Maia has enviable accessibilities.
Near the Porto International Airport, with its Municipal Aerodrome Vilar de Luz, it is connected to Porto by several highways, and in addition is crossed by three highways (A3, A4 and A41). At rail level Maia is served by the line of Minho. Metro of Porto has to pass in Maia 3 subway lines (B, C and E).

The county of Maia is also part of the demarcated region of Vinho Verde.
It features a wine with very special characteristics, because of the high percentage of malic acid contained therein.

Maia Welcome Center:
It's an information desk designed primarily as a support structure for tourists visiting the municipality of Maia.
Located in the Central Park of Maia, it has a tourist information office, bookstore, exhibition gallery, multimedia kiosk, coffee spot, municipal library and craft shop and regional products.
Open from Monday to Sunday between 09.00 and 19.00, provides all the necessary support services to visitors and locals moving to Maia.
